“Cycling is a unique way to truly experience the beauty of Africa, connecting with its diverse landscapes and the incredible people in every country along the way.”
In 2022, Atle Førsvoll (32) set out to achieve an incredible goal: cycling from Norway’s North Cape to Cape Town, and back. To prepare, Atle worked as a Foodora cyclist, battling all kinds of weather. Along his journey, he’s faced everything from police interrogations in Iran to cycling past military bases in Africa, and even stirred excitement in South Africa with his Ironman ambitions. Nicknamed “the biking viking,” Atle became a local sensation in Cape Town, with media interviews and fans eager for selfies at every turn. Now, he’s on his way back to Norway.
Driven by a heart for cycling
Book a lecture
Extraordinary cycling adventures, lessons in resilience, and stories that will change how you see the world.
After cycling over 40,000 kilometers through 3 continents and 39 countries, I have gained some unique experiences that no other Norwegian has, which I share through lectures.
How do you motivate yourself to do the impossible, every day, for two years in a row? How do you adapt to snowstorms, sandstorms, thunderstorms, ordinary storms, earthquakes, floods, dry season and rainy season?
What thoughts go through a Norwegian cyclist as he spends a day being questioned by Iranian police? And what thoughts go through a Norwegian cyclist when he sees on the news that the same place he was being questioned was bombed by Israel?
Day trip through Iraq, militia in Ethiopia, drunk poachers in Botswana, sober poachers in Congo, negotiations with police and border guards, but also the kindness of the people I met in the most remote villages.
I adapt themes and stories whether you are a company, sports team, library, group of friends or school.
The goal is to provide new perspectives on the world, inspiration to follow dreams and concrete experiences about how I achieved my goals. Theme, duration and price are adjusted to your needs.
